Hey guys new here!!
Got a Defender td5 and she has started smoking on take off after idling at lights or extended crawling in 1st etc (Grey/Blue smoke)

Has done loads of k's 320k and is blowing fumes from oil filler.
Runs and starts well no loss of power, new turbo and chip tuned a couple of years ago.

Any help from anyone who has been down this road would be appreciated.

Any engine of that mileage is likely to have some wear issues,may be a problem at next MOT. What level od oil use do you have?

In the last 10000k probably 2.5ltr. Most of that would be through the breather pipe. Have fitter a provent recently but hasn't had much effect.

Watching the video it looks like you need to refurb/rebuild the engine, piston rings at least!

Mind, it could last like that for another few thousand k ...

PS, I don't know a lot about TD5's as such ...

Well that engine has done its time.
Can you source a good used engine? Otherwise rebuild, as already said.
