Dear LandyZone,
I have a 98 3.9L V8 Disco imported from Japan. The previous owner has removed the cats(yay) then welded(boo) the rear two O2 sensors to the outside of the pipe! this last exactly 0.25 nano seconds when i went for a small off road excursion!

Do I remove these two sensors, get them fitted properly or what?
If I replace, can some point me towards a good supplier as I'm in the wilds of New Zealand

It would depend on your emission regulations but the easiest thing to do is change the "Tune resistor" on the ecu so it runs a non-cat tune. That's assuming yours is running the 14cux fuel injection (Lucas hot wire). As it has already had the cats removed I assume you don't have to comply with any regulations governing catalytic converters. By changing the tune resistor to a non-cat one the ecu will bypass the lambda sensors and you can just unplug them and throw them.
 
No emission stuff here, and I think its the 14cux...how do I tell? and how do I tune resistor thingy?
 
14 cux installed on my 4.6 nutter bastard

Note type of air flow meter, plenum.

Think they followed this with Thor type injection in a discovery, The inlet looks like a bunch of bananas

On a range rover, the ecu is under drivers seat and the tune resistor is in the wiring loom from it to engine bay, under drivers floor matting
