Hi folks, first post. I recently bought a 2003 Disco II. It's lovely. I've already had the window regulators break and I feel like I'm almost part of the club now.
I've realized that, while the remote works fine, I cannot unlock or lock the car using the key in the driver's door. The electric locks work well, but I'd be stuck if the remote control failed. If I turn the key in the lock, it turns easily 90 degrees in either direction and does nothing. I'm reasonably sure that there should be a mechanical linkage between the lock and the actuator, but I don't know what it should look like, or where it attaches to the actuator.
I would be most grateful for either a picture of this part or a source for buying a replacement. I've read in old posts on discoweb that a replacement can be made out of a nail, but without the original part, I don't know where to start. Thank you!
