Hello everybody! I'm new to the forums so go easy on me :)

Currently I have a Defender 90 with a 200tdi discovery engine added into it, and at the moment it doesnt have a rev counter. Now being fairly good with pic electronics, I wanted to have a go at making a rev counter instead of paying £50+ for one.
Now heres the question, how does the alternator output the pulse? Is it simply 1 pulse per rotation of the alternator or is it a little more complex than that?

Hope you can help! Andy :)

i seen some on ebay from HK for £25ish... by the time you **** about with bits fo this and bits of that, bits that dont fit, bits that dont work, you might as well spend the 50notes!

just plug it in the back of your alt. and be done with it :)
