I have my daughters 2005 L322 Range Rover TD6, that I have been trying to get sorted.
The side steps were absolutely shot and so as I replaced mine on my RR Sport, I said that I would do it for her.
I managed to replace the passenger one with the aid of a blow torch drill and threadcutter, however, the driver side was a different matter.

I had to remove the Air Tank to gain access to the four bolts.
This is where the fun begins.
Obviously air was dissipated and the RR came down onto the Bump Stops. Side steps replaced and all put back together again.

Started her up and all lights on the control panel and the raising light started to flash. Nothing happened.

After a while the pump started making a noise and so shut it down. Got the repair kit for the pump, refitted it and pump now runs quietly and is producing air.

By this stage all the control panel lights had gone out and nothing was happening.

Bought a new fault code reader/ clearer and hey presto the lights came back on and the Air Suspension fault extinguished.

The 4x4 screen shows the 4 wheel sensors raising with the caption raising also on the screen. The raising light is flashing on the control panel, the pump is running, there are no fault codes present, but the car is not raising at all. Although it is saying that it is!
I have even tried jacking all 4 corners up so that the pump isn't overloading, but the car stays on the bump stops.

Any ideas please.as I am now loosing the will!!!!!!
 
it could be the car has gone into transport mode as all the airbags have been depressurised, as far as i'm aware the only way to switch it off is use use testbook or autologic. i'm sure you did, but did you have all the doors closed whilst trying to raise the car? suspension won't go up/down if any door is open.
 
If this was a P38 I would suggest that you have melted the plastic pipes that feed the air to the reservoir and all the air bags.
Try putting a real compressor onto the system and you maybe hear the air hissing out. The wee compressor on the vehicle is not powerful enough to hear air escaping
 
My 2 pence worth ,,,,have you tryed the lock to lock on the steering .remember something about it resets inactive suspension ......cant hurt:rolleyes:;)

Hi I had all doors closed. What is testbook or autologic. Is it A RR system. I assume I need to get it to a RR specialist. Trouble is it's on 22" rims and cannot drive it up there.
 
Testbook is the Land Rover diagnostics software. Cannot remember what cheap independent diagnostids might work for your year. Allcomms, maybe? Have a look at Storey Wilsons RSW site.
 
allcomms is a bit of a hit/miss on 2005 as it has some bmw and some ford electronics. hawkeye does the 2005, and fault mate which both will read error codes on the air suspension and do various resets etc
 
PARTIC off doddington road near the railway crossing do the pipe and connectors if thats any help for the parts, they do truck parts really but pipe is the same it`s where I got mine from when I did same thing repairing my side steps.
