hi all!!
Now before i start i do know this is for no performance gain at all!!:D


i have been given a dump valve kit but it was for a peugeot DTurbo.
it needs to be connected to the throttle sensor wiring. but there is three wires going in one of which is the low idle!
Im a bit stuck.:confused:
which is the wire to connect to???

What Landy are you thinking of fitting this valve to?

WHY are you fitting such a stupid thing?

What do you expect this thing to achieve?

im fitting it for a bit of fun really!

A disco has a 0 to 60 time of 60seconds. Fitting a dump valve will drop that to 59.9999 seconds. I'd go for it if I was you. :D

But the ONLY way he can make it do that is to set it LOW so that it dumps that lovely fresh air that should be going into his cylinders to make POWER. He MUST set it lower than the wastegate manifold pressure setting or it won't ever go pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhht when he pulls off at the lights.

In a diesel, it is a CERTAINTY that fitting such a stupid thing costs power.

But I bet posing is more important than 20 bhp lost.

i was told that dump calves dont work on turbo diesel cos they dont have an opening or closing throttle valve on the inlet manifold
 
It'll work, but only when you've got revs up.
The throttle sensor on the 300 is an analogue potentiometer, unless your dump valve has an electronic controller its not directly compatible, if your valve has 2 wires to its solenoid, then you could make a little bracket and fit a micro switch form maplins to the pump, or throttle pedal so that it makes when the throttle is at idle position, then connect this up to the valve.
Dumping high pressure to atmosphere doesnt do your turbo any good though.
If you want some fun then why dont you put a p.e. teachers whistle on the valve.
 
If you to hear some noise, weld a plate on the inside of the tip of your exhaust, side ways, then bend it down a bit….
your disco will sound like a jet plane..
 
Never heard of that one, but it does remind me of a while back, we used to have exhaust trims that fitted on the end of the exhaust at the back, there was a large opening at the front and a small opening at the rear, the idea was that air flow under the car went into the opening gathered speed towards the smaller opening and dragged out the exhaust gas with it, a sort of vacuum device, the idea was to 'supercharge' your engine.
They soon died off though, must've been crap, the only thing I noticed was that due to the spiral supports in the unit smoke from the exhaust made pretty circles.

it does have a control box that needs to be connected to the throttle sensor, but there is three wires so i dont know which one to attach it to?

The dump valve is for a diffo vehicle, and the signals or protocol will be totally diffo, si I'm afraid that its prbably not gonna work.
There might well be a way, but you'd have to chop the electronics and do a load of crap like that.
 
IF its off a 306td then its an electronic dump valve so you need a micro switch
on the thottle to make it dump
