Just bought a new rad and fitted it tonight, all went well until I tried to fit the oil inlet/outlet pipes onto the new rad. They don't fit!

I have seen a post in the disco section about removing the adapters from your old rad to re-use them in the new one, but they won't budge and they could be braised on (its to dark to tell even with a torch)?

Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?

Yes I swapped the conectors over on the rad but if yours ain't budging you can't do this?!?
You have metric trying to fit impurial it will fit but will strip the thread!! But if you get a new rad in the future you can re-tap the thread to fit again.

Or you could re-tap the thread now!!

You sure you havent bought a 300 rad as they have different fittings and seal with an o ring instead on the taper.

I have phoned the company up in question today who also said that I would need to swap them over, so I going out in a minute armed with a blow torch to see if that will work!

It would help if I knew what sizes they are on both the oil hoses and the radiator. Does anyone know? I picked a 1/4" - 3/8" adaptor up today from a hose specialist but they don't fit.:doh::doh:

As for re-tapping the thread again I'd need to know what size threads they are suppose to be.

Yielding a blow torch at the radiator worked! Managed to crack the adaptors off, cleaned them up then fitted into the new rad! Jobs a kipper!

Out of interest, does anyone no the thread sizes on both the oil hoses and rad?
