I WAS DRIVING HOME WHEN MY LANDROVER 110 STOPPED THE ENGINES RUNNING FINE BUT THERES NOTHING THERE WHEN I PUT IT INTO GEAR TRIED CHANGING FROM HI TO LO RATIO BUT THE GEARS WILL NOT ENGAGE HOWEVER WHEN I PUT INTO DIFF LOCK THE GEARS WORK AND I CAN DRIVE NO PROBLEM ALSO THE STEERING FEELS LIGHTER ANY IDEAS WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG

Yo've snapped an halfshaft disconnect front prop and with diff lock engaged try to drive if you move it a rear shaft thats gone if nothing appens it's front half shaft that's gone.

AND STOP FECKING SHOUTING.
 
Sorry about shouting didn't realise I was never posted before, but thanks for the advice one other thing don't know if it makes a difference but I can turn the front prop easily by hand but the rear won't move
 
how the fek do you know if hes shouting?
i doubt he is actually sitting there , in front of his puter , shouting at it.

Coz he was writing all in capital letters, on a PC that's shouting.

with the steering feeling lighter i reckon you have snapped a front half shaft, and dont worry about these bastards, shout all yer want ;)

FFS NOBBER theres protocols and equiquette to follow don't you know old chap. And high standards to maintain. We don't want any old riff raff wandering in and out as they please. This is a very select club you know

Did as suggested 110 drives forward is the above statement correct or should it be the otherway round

should be otherway round must have been having funny turn when I wrote it. Obviously if the front propshafts off and it moves then the rear half shafts must be ok. If. you want to be 100% certain it is an halfshaft, reconnect front prop and disonnect rear prop, and landy shouldn't move
