hi everyone reading this, i am the very proud owner of a "B" reg Land Rover 90, which has a 2.25 petrol engine under the bonnet. i bought this over 3 years ago now and i have loved it from the day i saw it, of course with this being a petrol land rover there were some problems. At best i could get 15 MPG, due to some carb problems it burnt 20 ltrs of fuel doing only 6 miles travelling. i have had a new timing chain fitted and it was then running really silently and a dream.
Anyways the reason why im here is i have discovered that my Bill has a 2.25 engine with a 2.5 Weber Type 32 carb fitted. This was the original card for the vehicle when i bought it and it has be problemsome. After about 12 months of owning and driving the landy i had to have the carb replaced and just bought a like for like carb.
Should it really be a problem having a 2.5 carb instead of the original factory fitted carb.
Please help
