hi, in my landrover defender td5 my lights have stopped working, ive had the auto electrician out and he has traced this back to the loom, specifically the bit shown in the pictures below. we think its called a bridge connector. does anyone know where i can find this piece without paying for a whole new loom, which seems abit excessive just for one small bit! ive spoke to the local land rover brokers and they are not sure they have this piece individually. If i cannot get this piece is there any long lasting way of fixing this without paying for a full loom? the electrician made sure that it definately has power running to the connector, so it must be this small blue cap, which looks burnt out.

if you get the name of it or part number through your haynes manual or somthin i can ask the fella who gets me my parts>?

Get onto Vehicle wiring products and get a couple of multi lock connectors and r do it that way

Have you thought what caused the problem in the first place? I'm taking a guess, that maybe you have something else wired into the lighting circuit that burned out your wires. Spotlights wired straight to the high beam maybe? Just putting the thought in your head, in case you get it sorted, and it happens again....Ian.....

i was thinking that my self. even though you know what the item thats burnt out is why has it burnt out?#

check all your fueses make sure they are all the correct amp, a fella i went to see some lannys off his fuse box set on fire and melted it to **** because he had a 20amp in a 5amp i think orr 15 amp. again not sure but fact of the matter was thats what caused it so i would get that auto spark out again or all fails go see if you can source a new loom off a breaker or someone.. but im sure it will be somthin very simple.

Use low amp fuse wire to check of you still have a fault, if not then do as daz said

Bloody hell it's like you know my defender! Genius! Haha.mi bet that's it, I've had the spots wired to the main bean recently as well! I'll get the electrician to sort it out properly!

Tell the 'electrician' to use the high beam power to trigger a relay, then a separate fused power supply to the spots .. he should know what that means!

Only just seen this. I had my first Defender when I was 17, I am now on about my 12th Defender, and now 43 years old. You work it out lol. 3 things to remember about a Defender. 1, its not a dent, its character, 2, if you get it stuck, YOUR driving it wrong, and 3, if it doesn't leak oil, there is no oil in it!!!!!
