Hi Guys I've got a 2001 TD5 Disco having probs at the mo recent trip cut out on engine, black smoke (unburnt diesel). Changed all filters, no fault on EGR, had it on diagnosic - no faults...
Idles then if I rev it to 2000 black smoke appears & then cuts out.....what now?
check your turbo hoses haven't split or delaminated. It sounds more like an air intake fault than a fuel fault. It's likely that your turbo hose has colapsed on the inside causing it to strangle the engine.

the front turbo hoses delaminated and colapsed cheers for your help
No probs.
Depending on how long you are keeping it for you may want to upgrade to silicone hoses. They're a lot more pricey but don't delaminate.
