Hi All, can anyone advise me should my 2006 facelift TD4 have a secondary low pressure fuel pump and filter as I can't see one all I can see is two fuel lines running down the chasis to the engine high pressure system incorporating a cooler. I have looked down below where the fuel cut off switch is and You can see these pipes emerge down there all the way to the upper engine bay with nothing on the inner wing as shown on my RAVE diagrams. Has my entire 2nd LP pump and filter been removed or hopefully did they do away with it on the facelift model.
Thinking the worst if all of it has been removed where are the wires for the pump and where is my fuel filter if they did away with it ?
Please help, AL.
 
Should be one in tank, one in rear wheel arch (for your year), earlier ones had a the second pump on bulkhead.
 
A 2006 has just one low pressure fuel pump and one filter. Both items are located in front of the RHS rear wheel.

Access is through the the front of the rear arch liner, and by dropping the fuel pump cradle. There's no need to remove the arch liner, just pull it out the way.
 
Phew I am breathing a sigh of relief I thought someone had removed the lot my RAVE cd only mentions the wing mount.
I started my service/mods today and the engine has been maintained by Bodge it and leg it mechanics with bolts missing pipes not clipped in and a new diff forward mount fitted that is cracked where the bush has been forced by the looks.There has been a oil leak on the o/s/f inner cv oil seal into the IRD but as there is no free play I'm hoping it's an old one as the oil is not fresh obviously I'll check the level later and change the diff and gearbox and IRD oils.
As previous posts have mentioned I too have very tight possibly seized Glo plugs just one out so far.Changing the crankcase breather in morning if this winter sun is still with us and thought of pouring boiling water on the stuck plugs as I have removed the inlet manifold to get to them I'll try the torque wrench idea if it doesn't work I'll have to wait until the engine has been run and try again.To be honest loving it !

As above fuel pump and filter housed in OS rear wheel arch peel back the liner and all is revealed

just be aware the filter can be a pig to get out of its sleeve I put a little coating of grease on mine so the next time it will come out easier
 
Thanks for replies especially the pictures my memory is rubbish I recognised the layout when I saw it but had thought it was the petrol Freelander 1 that layout was applicable too.I have more problems now with two snapped Glow plugs to drill out! filter can wait until front end jobs are done.
