My 2.5 P38 '96 Range Rover recently failed an M.O.T due to several problems,. All have been solved and rectified apart from one.

The service brake judders as soon as I press it, wether im standing still or moving it does it. Not only is it very annoying its also an M.O.T failure.

If you dont know what i mean by juddering its like the ABS kicking in when you have to break harshly.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

i have no idea but if its ABS related then its an easy and cheap check to do. just get yer head down there and have a look. also check the condition of the wires to them as i think they can be probmatic at times.

Wouldnt know where to look to be honest. Although I am experienced on Land Rovers my knowledge really extends as far as the 90, 110 and the wolf. ABS systems on a range rover is new to me.

they should be easy to spot.. one on each wheel/hub/brake.. should have a black cable going to it about 3 or 4 mm thick. the ones i have come across have one small bolt securing them. if the bolt comes slack the sensor can move avbout send false signals to the ECU. the same can happen if the cable is chaffed.
