Im following the instructions that are in the workshop manual. it tells me i have to remove the gearbox to take it out.

im currently up to the step where it simply says "remove bell housing bolts" and there simply isnt enough room to even fit my hand let alone any tools!

Im removing the engine, i dont need the gearbox and someone has bought the rest of the range for the interior, so im not too bothered about having to put it all back together as the chassis is knackered.

any easier ways or suggestions are kindly welcome!

its a struggle but you can get the engine bolts out, if you can get underneath and rig up a couple of long extensions and a knucke connector, you'll have to experiment, once you have cracked the nut you should be able to wind it out from the top. keep at it as it will all drop into place and become more easy.

i know it works as ive had mine out more times than i can remember(well about 3 or 4)

it is a pain to dind the correct combination. if uou undo the engine mounts you can lower the engine slightly, take mounts completely off. you may even benefit from dropping the box bolts out!! by the time have struggled it will save you extra time!!!
