I have a TD5, it’s been a pain starting at the minute to the point she’s been parked up. If I keep trying to turn her over I get a click, click click this goes on for about 10 mins sometimes, more sometimes less. She will eventually fire. However once she’s turned off it’s the same again. Put diesel in her the other day, took 47 mins to get off the forecourt as couldn’t get her going. . I’m stuck on what to try. Any help or advise would be much appreciated.

Sounds like the solenoid on the starter motor needs fixing. You can buy a kit to replace the solenoid internals. You need to remove the starter motor to do it.

Or possibly poor earth, enough juice to kick the solenoid but not subsequently turn it over.

Easily checked on older engines with a jump lead from starter body to battery -ve but I don't know if that'll mess with other td5 electwizzardry.

Someone will know

Sharp tap on the solenoid with a hammer sometimes frees them up.

I don't know if there is easy enough access to the solenoid on a Td5 to do that, though.
