Hi
Just bought a Nanocom Evolution to program a key for a Disco 2 , just tried it, and I get a error code saying it can't communicate with the ECU and then freezes .. any ideas as to why this may happen ? I have the key in position 2 , battery is okay etc so now I'm at a loss ?!

Hello,

Did you buy it new or 2nd hand?

Does it have the latest software / firmware update?

Does it work on other pages / screens?

Try it with the car running.

Plug the cable into the Nanocom
Start landy
Plug Nanocom into OBD port

Go from there.

Check the fuse protecting the diagnostics socket is ok.

Try giving the obd socket pins a clean with electrical contact cleaner, don't use wd40 ,the pins can get a bit green with corrosion and not connect properly.

Agreed - exactly what I found on mine and brians resolution worked for me! - Thanks BrianP38dse
