Hi i´m mark,

got myself a Series III 88 with a sherpa diesel 2,5 n/a in it. Only had it for a couple of days and i`ve fallen in love with it. I drove the Lady down to germany and just before i got there, one of the fuel pipes going to the injektor broke.

I have been trying to find out what kind of motor it is and where to get spare parts for it. The number on the motor is 15J 22024D

Is the motor a peugeot? It seems that parts from a Land Rover motor also fit into the sherpa. Is that right?

Does anybody know where to get spare parts for it, especially the fuel pipes.

Thanks!

are you based in germany or Uk?

I have the sherpa and the peugeot engined versions here. the sherpa is pretty much a 90 na so those parts should fit but there are a number of commercial breakers orund here who can supply sherpa parts. My local garage had no issues getting them.....

Thanks for your fast answer.

I`m based in germany. I´m bringing the Landy to a friend today who is a mechanic. It will probably need more than only the fuel pipes . On monday i will know exactly what i will need.

Is it possible to send the parts to germany?

I`m just beginning to get into the Landy stuff, so i still have a lot of questions...sorry.

Was the motor i´ve got build by peugot or rover?

Is the 90 n/a a defender? What are the usual parts i can use inmy motor? Is the Sherpa a good motor. Any weak points?

Thanks!

ABSOLUTELY NOT !!!!

The 15J engine is a special version of the LANDROVER type 12J 2.5 litre N/A diesel engine.

The injector pipes from a 12J WILL NOT FIT the 15J.

Your immediate answer is to get the pipe repaired.

If it is the end has come off, it can be soldered back on, and SILVER-SOLDERING is the way to do it.

If the pipe itself has fractured, this is almost always because an expert has decided the anti-vibration clamps aren't required, and he took them off.

You should be able to get a set of pipes here in UK.

Try Paddocks and Craddocks for a starter.
