i have a series 3 landrover which i have been doing for the last year, i have done all the welding on the chassis and replaced all the suspension. i fitted the 200tdi engine to the chassis but then it had a leak so i have now rebuilt that. but i have kind of lost interest in the project and now the space in the garage is needed. does anyone know if there is anyone out there that i can cart the whole project off to and then just pick it up when its all finished? obviously there will be a cost involved but i understand that i just want to drive it!

They're certainly labour intensive beasts. Unless its really nearly done it could be cheaper to flog what you got and buy a galv chassis runner! Have you got a pic or some details of where its at?

the chassis has all been shot blasted and painted and poly bushed and new parabolic springs and shocks fitted so it does roll. but after fitting the engine it sprung a leak and after re building the bottom end i have just lost enthusiasm to put it back in but as far as pictures of it in its current state go it is literally just a chassis with axels and wheels

get some piccies up of what youve got parts wise and how far you have got with it

then if you can get it to manchester airport area i could work out a cost and timeframe for yer

as long as yer dont pull the same stunt as the last fella with the austin i was working on
( soon as parts needed buying or sourcing he started messing abbout and soon as the word money was mentioned the arguments started )

Its been at least 2 months maybe even 3 months since i did anything to it, and i have a thread on here somewhere with a few bits and bobs but i will upload some pictures in a bit and update the thread. But i may well be able to get it to manchester, and i would be happy to pay upfront that way it saves you getting messed about.

Rivetts are good and very helpful. They're just down the road from where I live.. although I'm using MVT at Chobham (Neil on 07872058441) Surrey for my current build/uprating. These guys are/were a motor vehicle training acadamy for teenagers but are now moving away from that and concentrating on general mechanic repairs, resprays and rebuilds of cars, especially classics. Enthusiastic, they have a "can do" attitude, i.e what ever the problem they mend it, make it or adapt it! They have extensive knowledge on rebuilding old land Rovers. All housed in a large unit with heated spray facility at Fairoaks Airport, Chobham near Woking.

They have had my SII for a few months and I hoping to get it back in a week or so. They may like to do another??? - worth an ask.

If you Google MVT, Fairoaks Airport you should find their web site - Hope this is useful.

just a bit of an update, after a few beers with a few mates the clever idea of just finishing it myself was hatched. so to day the engine is now in and running and the car drives all be it without any brakes or cooling system just yet, im waiting on getting my gas bottle refilled so i can finish of a few mounts to hol
d the new rad and intercooler, then hopefully she will run and stop as landrover intended by the end of march. leaving just the wiring to do. but if anyone out there has or knows anyone who has a good condition dash that would be great as i have 2 and they are both rotten beyond saving i also need some seats for the front as mine are not in good shape, if you have anything could you om me please. i did try to put a wanted ad up but it says im not aloud
