Hello folks!!

I'm looking at buying a brand new Defender and I want your input. I'm only looking at getting a base model but should I buy a 90 or 110. Hard top or county. I just want a play thing for a couple of years and want to get as much money as possible back when or if I sell it.

I don't need it for my job and the kids are about to leave:banana:

I get a 20% discount so the repayments are going to be manageable.

Also I can't find anything about the road tax on these for the normal employed driver. Thanks

110 4 door utility will have cheaper tax disc 220 about or 470 if you go csw. Utility will keep eyes from looking in the back better. If you wan the back window on the side you can alsways add it later and still keep the cheaper tax disc

Dont spend alot, you wont get much for your money. Even the top spec ones are agriculturial. 90 pickup with a radio and some xzls on 7.50 will do. Enjoy.

90 Truck cab or utility.

Dunno about tax, who cares when it's a plaything? It's a very minor portion of the running costs.

90 or 110 depends on preference and how much room you need. Road tax for all new Defenders is £220.

90 hardtop, unless you need the room.

Baltic blue with matching roof, abs and traction control, upgraded audio.

unstoppable!

Perfect!

Of all the cars to buy new this isn't the one. Buy used is the sensible approach in my opinion

normally new isn't best but as the op is getting a 20% discount it makes
much more sense;)

plus defenders dont depreciate to badly anyway:)

I still think it's madness. I got 17% off a bmw 135i which was unheard of. I still lost a fortune. Either way new cars of any kind lose a fortune in first 3 years. A landy depreciates less overtime, but drops like a lead balloon when driven out of a showroom
