So I got home, and got a beep from the dash: EAS fault. No problem - whipped out the software, and powered it up.
Read faults, got some sensor faults, and vehicle has moved fault. Double clicked "Unlock EAS" and powered down.
Still problem, so powered up again... and this happened:

What did I do wrong!? And how do I make it go away??

Thanks so much in advance :)

Good news

It seems to have gone.. I pushed EAS unlock repeatedly...

The incessant beeping has given me a considerably high blood pressure.....

Does anyone have any ideas as to what did this? It did clear the original faults, but at a lot of stress :p

You have bad communication with the car.....the software hasn't got a good idle on the Comms....

It said it did.. Had hundreds of the correct codes flying back and forth :/

Hopefully won't have to touch it again for a while though :) - might be worth using an XP machine in future, although I doubt Windows 8 was responsible...

That is a list of almost every fault that can be registered. Result of bad comms.

Is it the software throwing up faults as a result of misreading signals, or the EAS logging faults as a result of poor comms?

I'm assuming that when it finally worked, everything had just nicely gone in sync then? Fortunately!

EASunlock is designed for XP and works best on a comp with a serial port. My old steam driven Dell works flawlessly every time. It does work with, but does not seem to like as much, a USB connection. A lot more problematic on the USB link.

+1 I use an old toshiba

I use a win7 laptop and use it with a USB interface I bought about 9 years ago....no issues....ask Dopey, it's used on his P38!!
