Hi all

i am desperatly trying to replace the clutch on my 300tdi as i need it for the weekend, i have got as far as removing all the bell housing bolts and i can get about a 1/2" gap between the housing and the gearbox but no mater what i do it just wont come off...

Any ideas?

Gearbox mounts ?

I have removed two thats all there are right? just checked the rave manual and it says to remove the chassie support and lower the gearbox, i am currently lowering it onto the supprot should i be lowering it lower to remove it?

Give it a good old waggle and pull at the same time it'll let go.

Don't anybody edit this for accuracy.:)

if your doing it with transfer box on rear of boxes ned to be lowered to clear body and exhaust rear pipe ,use vehicle jack on panhard rod to hold front of engine up

i lowered the gearbox mount as well to make it easier. I know it sounds daft but if yiu havent lowered the box, how have yu got to the very top bolt? is the gap just at the bottom of the box as it sinks and pivots on the top bolt.
