:( Freelander 1.8 petrol xei 55 plate Mysterious coolant leak
Purchased 18 months ago found coolant leak after 3 months….tank empty …coolant tank warning light on dash. Now topping up every two weeks with a cupful of 50% mix of antifreeze (red) and water. No physical signs of any coolant loss.

On purchase had a check up at local official Landrover dealer….gave me a list of minor faults but nothing to do with coolant.

Have had two services now at 4x4 independent garages and two pressure tests which showed no loss when coolant was hot or cold. Both garages told me to keep a regular check on the coolant but offered no solution. Placed cardboard under the freelander to check for any drips…. nothing.

Still concerned about the leak and that engine failure could be around the corner.

Am I right in believing that the head gasket and pin problem suffered by earlier Freelanders was rectified by the time the 55 plate came out? Is it unlikely to become a head Gasket failure?

Is there anything I can be doing to overcome the leak and give me peace of mind?

Advice please

are your carpets damp, heater matrix leaking, is the water pump leaking, is the manifold gasket leaking or is it the favourite..........hgf.............
