Hi guys,
In June of 2010, My wife Catherine & I took part in the inaugral Help for Heroes 4x4 European Rally. It was our way of making a difference and honouring the men & women who put themselves in harms way on all our behalf. We had such a good time... that we've decided to do it all again in 2011!

The HELP FOR HEROES EUROPEAN 4x4 RALLY 2011 is a non-competative tour of europe following the path and telling the story of the Allied Invasion through Europe and includes parts fabled by the Band of Brothers book and television series.

But it's not really about history, it's about today as H4H themselves say, it's about The Blokes.

"It’s about the 'blokes', our men and women of the Armed Forces. It’s about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it’s about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It’s about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It’s about Ben, it’s about Steven and Andy and Mark, it’s about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes."

And in case anyone is in any doubt, it's for The Blokettes as well. More and more of our service women are carrying out roles alongside The Blokes. Medics, drivers, pilots, female liason. They are running the very same risks and deserve a mention.

We would love you to support us by donating through our Bmycharity website, a link to it can be found on our new website www.teamskibum.com

Donating through Bmycharity is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give, it is wholley owned by H4H who take no percentage – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity will receive an extra 28% at no cost to you.

If you'd like to learn more about us, the rally or simply donate, please have a look at our website.

Thanks in advance.

Hi folks, found another Landy forum to get some of my technical que3stions answered. Looking forward to doing my bit to help as well.

But right now, I've got two rear brake calipers to refurbishe to complete a rear brake & shock rebuild oin my 84 Vogue SE. Then it's on to the new spots. Wish me luck!

Sorry guys... I didn't realise I was supposed to make a certain number of posts before I was taken seriously.

All I'm trying to do is raise money for a good cause.

I hope all who are interested will look at the website.

Well its pretty usual to be a regular contributor before asking people to fund your trips round Europe:p

I was not aware of this!

So...i am intending to do the Help For Heroes Convoy in April...but the ferry is £400....so, please give generously. I will of course pay for my own beer.

I thank you. God save the King.

Actually guys... no need to agree with Storm.... The not inconsiderable cost of the rally is completely covered by us from our personal finances. I can show you the receipts.

Donating via Bmycharity really DOES go straight to Help for Heroes... I don't handle any of the cash.

I hope this persuades at least some of you that this is a serious undertaking and not a "jolly".

Nobody ever agrees with me...maybe your username and low post count works against you?

So rather than go through your web page why don't people go direct to:- Help for Heroes and donate that way.
As far as I'm aware Help 4 Hero's is the unoffically supported charity of LZ anyway.

Gratch,

People are of course welcome to go direct, it won't add or remove anything from their donation.

The rally is simply a way to raise the awareness of H4H in the minds of some people.

I'll say it in simple terms...

128% of your donation (assuming you opt for gift aid) goes direct to H4H.

The Bmycharity website is wholley owned by H4H and unlike Just Giving, does not take a cut of the donation for admin.

Your donation does not pass through my hands and in no way funds my attendance on the rally.

I'm going to end it here, if you would like to support us, your donation will be welcome, if you don't then that's fine as well.
