Hi Everyone,
Sorry for posting my introduction as a Help! message but I guess that is how a lot of people end up joining the LandyZone.

Is there any member living in the Chelmsford, Essex area with a Faultmate please?

I have owned a Range Rover P38 4.6 HSE Limited Edition (1998) for donkey's years (2002) and the vehicle is currently "engine disabled" in my local pub car park.

There is a long history of garages tinkering to correct what I now believe is an intermittent fault that have cost me recovery fees and non-fixed repairs.

I am disabled and rely on my P38 for my independence and mobility ~ Unfortunately I have very limited means and I just cannot afford yet another recovery and non-fix that lasts a few weeks.

What I need some very kind person to do is to set the system to the lowest level of security and disable the EKA system whilst I work on the problem DIY over time whilst still having 'reliable' use of the vehicle.

I would be deeply grateful if anyone could help me and I assure them that they will be appropriately compensated for their effort if they were able to help ~ I just can't afford another call-out fee this month.

My especial thanks to Irishrover who responded to a PM question with what needs to be done.

Regards,

Y4Artu

Update and final resolution of the problem...

New No#1 and No#2 key fobs with keys from Land Rover cured the problem.

Apparently, both of the old keys had developed intermittent faults although exactly what the problem was with each key is still unresolved.

Has anyone else experienced this?
