Hey guys! Its been a while since i was on the site but been shockingly busy at work!

Have a few questions!

1) What colour is my land rover and paint code? 1998 300tdi is it on the chassis plate? (see pic)

2) I need to do some touch up on the paint work but what kind of paint would have been used originaly? cellulose, 2k?

3) I was thinking of spraying the grille and surrounds gloss black but do you think i would need to match the roof as its white at the moment?

4) I was also thinking about updating the look of the lights so there all clear lenses! can you buy clear lenses that will fit straight on? and i have the square type reverse lamp and fog lamp will the round ones ive seen on the newer 90's fit?

5) oh nearly forgot has anyone tried 2k paint in the can? you push a button at the bottom of the can and it activates?

Thanks for any advice and suggestions......

I can answer 3 and 4, and maybe the paint code will be on the engine bay plate. Mine wasn't.

3) I think they would look better black. They are pretty cheap to buy new black ones.

4) you can get clear lights now which fit straight on. I got these on mine

cheers..

So! i thought i had narrowed down my landy colour with help from a kind forum member! (Potifino red). But looking at the landy paint charts portifino wasnt painted on 90's in 1998? Anyone else have a suggestion? For all i know it could have been resprayed!

cheers

Safest to take it to a paint shop and get it colour matched - as you say may not be original

Assuming original paint, would have been cellulose.

thank guys! i'll try and get it colour matched! Marchy can you post a pic of landy so i can see the colour?

thanks! oh can you still buy cellulose or can i just shoot 2k over it?

You can still get celly, But 2k is loads better and is what I use now.
Provided the all the health and safety crap doesn't bother you then it's the way to go.

Hey aaron! ive seen a few places doing 2k isolate free in a spray can! i dont need much! just need a colour match!

Yeah, I've seen the isocyanate free stuff. Never used it though.
My thinking is it's not like I do it every day so I'll be fine
Either way, If you can get the colour match in 2k then I'd say go for it :)

My Land's being rebuilt at the moment so I can't post a full photo of it.
The paint work was badly faded but the best picture of the colour is this one.
Sorry its not very good.
