Hi I'm David from Colchester!

Am new to this forum kind of thing! Been into my oldschool fords an bmws for so long decided I needed a change and swapped my e30 325i m-tech for a f-reg defender 90 200tdi!

Unfortunately after managing to get it all the way back from Glasgow an looking at it in the daylight it's a wreck! Pat on the back for me! I'm slowly managing to get it all sorted!

Would be good for some advice at times tho! Hope all are well and all the best for the new year guys and girls and look forward to talking to

In LandyZone terms, there's no such thing as "a wreck". We prefer, project, challenge or moneypit!

Lol afternoon guys, well when I say wreck I mean mechanically, I wanted it for green laning so bodywork wasn't an issue, but mechanically I'd like to say its a project an them some! Took it out yesterday an lost all my gears! Transfer box won't engage what so ever!

I did take it to Mansfield in manning tree an they've quoted £4500 to fix everything from swivel pins, to lights! They gave me 3 sides of a4 paper of all the things tong with it

Well now you've got a crib sheet you can work thru them 1 at a time untril they're all done..

And by the time ya all done you'll have a vehicle that you know is sorted. and it'll cost about a 1/4 of what Mansfield have quoted you.. :D

No drove it back, 2 days later the front props uj blew up and made a right mess! All good fun. Sort of!

Yea I do miss my e30 but I never used it! Least my landy I've used it twice for green laning!

Does anybody know the best solution for a floppy transfer box gear stick? Can't engage any gears! New box or can it be fixed?
 
Awesome thanks guys, will have a look tomorrow an see if I can get to the bottom of it, fingers crossed I haven't blown it up.

Fingers crossed that the grub screw is loose and not sitting at the bottom of the box or worse halfway down ... :D :rolleyes:
