I did a trip from London to Cape Town in a 200Tdi. I am not a mechanic but I really enjoyed learning about my landie on this trip. Only had a few issues, Water Pump in Egypt, Fuel Tank in Namibia. Once the U-Joints were replaced then it was pretty much down-hill from there, either the mechanics we used did not do a good job or the propshaft was bent ... but I ended up having to change the UJ's every 1000 miles after that.... and then the pinion seals went. But honestly, I couldnt be happier with the reliability of the car. I will take a 200Tdi anyway.
Anyway, to cut a long story short I have just got myself another beautiful 200Tdi and I am now in preparation for another long trip though Africa (2012).
You will be hearing from me on this site pretty often I am sure.
