hello to everyone in landrover world. just purchased my first landrover. its a 99 discovery td5 in mint condition. really like it. heard about the problems discoverys can have but it would be nothing compared to my last 4 x 4. shogun 3.2 did bought new in 2001, supposed to be bullet proof etc etc. price new 32,500, 20,000 miles new discs all round under warranty, 26,000 miles new gearbox under warranty, 30,000 miles new heater pipes,36,000 miles aircon packs in repaired under warranty,45,000 two new front wheel bearings,52,000 wiper motor replaced, 60,000 more new discs, 65000, rear heater unit replaced, 68000 heater pipes replaced again, 80,000 timing chain breaks and splits camshafts in two and wrecks the head £ 4000 to repair, dealer repairs head etc on test drive timing chain breaks again and wrecks everything again. after legal action mitsubishi admit problem with timing chain tensioner and refunds the £ 4000. 90,00 more heater pipes,starter motor x 2 in two weeks, 95,000 dual mass flywheel comes apart and cuts the gearbox bellhousing in two along with water pipes etc. new flywheel clutch and fitting £ 2,500.

sold recently when rear suspension collapsed and rear heater unit and pipes went again. worst vehicle i ever had, should have bought a landrover and not listened to the critics etc etc.
