Finally I have found a Lndy site where hopefull I can get some good advice.

With any luck, on Monday I will be driving home from somewhere in the UK in a 1990/91 Range Rover Vogue SE.

My question is this:

I have seen a 1991 model with a Diahatsu 2.8tdi engine transplant. The car is very clean and has had a full new tailgate etc. Bodywork is sound.

It has the auto box (not a transplanted manual) and all receipts for the work done. It all looks a very professional job. Is this a common transplant or should I avoid it like the Plague.

Any other advice would be gratefully received, such as should I go for the 3.9 V8 instead. (another possible car has FSH @130000 miles but suffers from stalling after a long run ?? is this a common fault on the V8 and is it easily remedied?)

I look forward to chatting with you all.

Welcome to the forum matey :)
I see you've already put a similar question down in the Rangie section, so hopefully someone down there (the posh bit) will be able to tell you what you wanna know.
