Hi everyone, I've recently inherited a 1973 Series III Ragtop.
She was in my brothers keeping down in Cornwall but slowly seizing up due to rack of use and the sea air was trying to eat what little will rust on a Landy! So now its with me following an exciting drive back!!!! Previous to this latest venture I have spent the last few years fooling modifying my Nissan Skyline and racing it on track days. Now I must confess to being torn as I start to invest more on the Landy or 'Alice' as my wife has names her than on the Skyline!! Mind you with the price of Land Rover parts I could practically rebuild the whole vehicle for the same price as a track rod end for the Skyline so I'm loving this!!!
Currently I am suffering from all sorts of teething issues, the electrics are a disaster, and the brakes seem to be, well one of them makes a slight effort! Its due an MOT in January so I'm working on it now so expect plenty of questions with pictures!
So far I've found that I'm not always winning despite my best intentions! When I picked it up the headlights worked as did the indicators but not the brake lights. Now the brake lights work but the headlights and indicators do not!! What I really want to do is remove the whole dash and start from scratch with the electrics. I'm sure that would solve all sorts of problems straight away.
