Hi all,
In the response to a question I asked it was suggested that I introduce myself, and my Landy in this section, so here I go.
I've owned Hector (Hope Everything Continues To Operate Reliably) for 6 years after picking him up from a main dealer in Suffolk when he was 6. Owned initially by Hammonds as their Financial Directors car, and then to a little old lady in the same town who between them only put on 43,000 miles. He's a 2004 Discovery 2 Landmark TD5 Manual with now with a respectable 83K on the clock.
Over the years I've had a few issues (who hasn't); though nothing too major or costly, except for when the injector harness and fuel pump failed when we were travelling through the Lake District on our way back from Scotland. I could have got the parts off eBay for £100, though due to it happening on a Saturday afternoon we had to stay in Windermere for 2 nights before the garage could get the parts and charge £800 so all in all it was about £1,500 including the bar bill for the missus who was not too chuffed.
I've had the Three Amigos, leaky sunroof, failed sunroof motor (fixed this morning after finding a thread on here), rear suspension bags etc... all the usual suspects, though thankfully a lot of it was covered under the 2 year warranty I managed to wrangle out of Hammonds when I brought him.
He's still looking good, and for the most part still operating reliably.
