After fantastic service from Paul, setting me up in record time after the anti-spam software took a dislike to me, id thought id drop by this section and say hello.

Ive just bought a fantastic '86 90. Fully rebuilt by previous owner with new chassis, bulkhead, 2" lift (inc corrected bars etc), rewired, painted etc etc. Its took me a long time to find the right LR, but it just shows what can be got if you are patient.

Main reason for getting a 90, apart from being exposed to LR's in all guises as my mate runs a leading independent specialist LR company in NE (thanks to Brian for finding me this vehicle), is that i have finally given up trying to kid myself that my BMW is OK in the snow, and new dog means the 90 is far more practical.

Previously ive been an owner of a kit car (Lotus 7 style) and enjoyed the build process. Driving it was a bit of an anti-climax, especially as it couldnt be used by us all at weekends.

The 90 will probably see a lot of changes while we have it. Ive already fitted a pair of trakker seats in the back. Once i get the steering firmed up and stop it pulling under braking, ill be on the look out for tasteful upgrades.

Im looking forward to finding some local green lanes, maybe i should join a local club and attend some outings. Which clubs would you recommend in my area (Durham / Darlington).

Cheers,
Darren.
