Hi all,
Just introducing myself, I've been viewing the site as a guest for a while and have taken the plunge and bought a 2003 discovery ES TD5 with 72k on the clock I've joined the site because you guys seem to have all the answers to the questions I have and I like the humour, I absolutely love the beast but am having second thoughts about the reliability of it, I bought it from a local independent specialist who I must say is falling over backwards to help, picked it up on the 22nd of November and the next day there was diesel dripping from the drivers side of the engine, the dealer picked it up the following day and fitted a new fuel pressure regulator, less than a week later the 3 amigos appeared, it was a faulty abs sensor which the dealer replaced, 4 days later 3 amigos again this time faulty shuttle valves which again the dealer replaced, 5 days later two green flashing lights and it goes into get me home mode, this time a faulty XYZ switch which was again replaced by the dealer, 2 days later pool of engine oil under car, dealer again repaired a failed gasket, and last Sunday three amigos are back on dealer has diagnosed it needs a complete ABS modulator and is going to fit one in the new year as he's chocka block at the minute, is this all I've got to look forward too I can't drive the bloody thing round the block without it keeling over please tell me it'll get better as I'm beginning to think there's a reason why there's so many Land Rover knockers, all replys humorous or otherwise welcome.
