hello everyone I'm Brendan from West Yorkshire, I own a 98 D1 safari. Purchased last year for £1500 and on inspection at the garage it required £1600 in welding, to quote the mechanic "it's held together by rust I do not know how it's still in one piece" That was my introduction to Land Rover ownership lol. There's been other bits along the way and a wonderful intermittent electrical fault but I suppose that's all part of the fun eh. Out of the 4 vehicles I own this has given me the most problems by far but it's fun to drive and more than worth it though when I get out in the middle of nowhere and relax.

Hello and welcome to LZ:)

Hi and welcome!

one of the best landies I owned was a Disco 1. Long since departed this life due to rust too but never forgotten.

Welcome Brendan, if you've had the welding done, at least you shouldn't need it doing again for a few years!

They're very special vehicles, in both senses, but they're worth the extra cost or effort!
