I've recently taken a punt on a 2009 Freelander 2 HSE Auto - it's only got 203,000 miles on the clock so what could possibly go wrong!! :)

A local dealer had taken in as part-ex against an Evoque and only wanted just over 2k for it. All very clean and tidy with loads of history so I though I'd take a risk on it. Looks like it was an ex. company car doing 25k a year.

After owning it for two months the only issue is a judder at low throttle - happens most at 50mph on the flat when trundling, but fine 95% of the time. Can't decide whether it's gearbox or something else. If you knock it into Sport mode it barely judders, and not at all when up go up and down the gears in command shift. So some research to be done here.

And given the mileage I can't decide whether preventative maintenance it the best approach or just drive it till something breaks!

I change the Autobox oil for a start.

But first i'd be inclined to check it first, colour - smell etc..

Thanks Henry.
Just need to find a good independent garage in Derbyshire now. The normal garage I use is good for general car maintenance, but I guess this is a more of a specialist job?
