I needed a new hobby ......so decided to keep my Freelander 1 (2002 1.8 ESX ).
Bought it from new, its worth diddly squat, but besides the underpowered engine and cylinder head bla bla,its been a great car.
Just done the head gasket myself (second time for car 40k and 60k) big thanks for the archive on how to do it. It made the job very easy.
About to embark on fixing the electric sunroof (Leaks, and yes I am bored).
Can any one tell me where the water drains are supposed to come out ? 'cose at present the roof lining by the back door gets wet when it rains and it isn't coming from the back door.
Also left sunroof rail has no action, wot's it likley to be ? Anything I need to know. Haynes is useless on this subject.

Many Thanks Rob. I saw the link and photos...it gives me hope!
I've got visitors arriving today for 3 weeks...so I'll make temp seal on sunroof and revisit once they have all gone home.

The so called "leaking sunroof" is in fact, not a leaking sunroof... It's actually a water feature and comes as standard on most gaylanders and discos. Only difference is that most discos have 2 sunroofs so that everyone on board can get to experience the water feature effect. Happy days!
