Hi everyone,

I'm Elliot living in Bristol, I'm currently looking at buying a Discovery 2 1999 2.5TD and was looking for any advice to help me make sure it a good one!

It's got 64000 miles on it.. Yes very low mileage! And has had quite a bit of work done tuning wise with larger inter cooler turbo boost box and the egr valve blanked. I drove it today and all seemed great, even if my elbow hit the window when steering!
Rear sunroof has been sealed.

Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice on what to look out for, in terms of buying a donkey, and what problems I may be able to expect.

Thanks hope your all enjoying the snow driving past us front wheeled lot!

:welcome: To the mad house

Have a search and a good read pal, there's all the buying advice you could possibly need knocking about on here;););)

Best advice I ever had was 'if you dont know find someone who does' so take someone with you to look at it who knows about landrovers, there are a lot of mongrel ones out there.
Make sure the numbers match up and it doesnt look like it has been rebuilt from a wreck!

Seems that there a loads of helpful people on this site and perhaps someone will offer to help you for the price of a pint and a fish supper.

I have just joined and it seems if you put your location on you will likely get offers of help.

Enjoy your landy, you will be surpirsed what a Disco can do!

A HA!

If you look on amazon or wherever ladrover discovery buying guide published by pmm books ISBN 0 - 9545579 - 7 - 2 PMM Books is a fairly good guide althogh there is no subsitute for experience

Thanks everyone for your reply's. I'll have a good look around and probably take my friend to have a look who's a disco fan, and a trained mechanic, so hopefully that'll help. Maybe in a few weeks time i'll be posting some pictures of my new Discovery!

Thanks again!
