Hi everyone, we are completely new to the world of land rovers and are looking to buy a defender TD5 for our small farm.

We have found one we are interested in, but wanted to ask advise about the body work - photos attached. Is this a relatively simple respray due to aluminium oxidisation or something more concerning? I have been reading about Electrolytic corrosion?

Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated, as we don't want to be buying major problems, certainly for the money being asked.

Thank you for the welcome! Just wanted to check we were buying a major problem. we want to keep her as original as possible, and overall we think the chassis looks pretty sound, she is low mileage at 60k - 16yrs old, and according to MOT history never had a advisory... What do you think would be a fair price, they seem to vary significantly.

The body panels won't be a problem for another 16yrs. It's more the condition of the metal underneath. Up in the wheel arch behind the exhaust towards the rear lights were the worst parts on both my farm defenders in end. We had them both from new so it's good way to determine the condition without climbing underneath
