now i know i should be grateful to get any heat out of a series heater lol, but it's no joke at the mo with the thing only blowing hot air even when set on cold, i'm not expecting air con type cold air but slightly less than boiling would be good!! any ideas, none of the books have much on the heaters:confused:

on top of thermostat housing the should be a valve which is connected to the heater system, this is operated by a lever inside the cab and the most likely cause of it not working is either it as siezed or the inside of the valve the seals are knackered allower hot water to circulate 2 ways around this either put an ordinary inline tap or get a replacement, the pic i have is not very good

Get someone to move the lever continuously from hot to cold whilst you look under the bonnet, at the top front of the engine is the flow control valve, you should see the lever going back and forth, if it doesnt the control wire has broken, come undone at the valve end or the lever end, or if all seems ok the seals may have failed in the valve.

as said above, check cable for damage / brakes, if yer cant get no joy, stick an inline tap in , on me series 2a thers a brass tap on the head at the back , on and off.
