Got a 1.8 2003 freelander and the heater is not warming up.

don't appear to be any leaks anywhere

any ideas?

thanks

Probably a disconnected cable from the heater dial to the heater matrix.

I take it the temperature gauge is at normal temp.

You'll have to remove the centre console and have a look

yup - look in the general q's an answers section - then do a search if yu dont find the answer.

Had a search before i posted, all i could find was some stuff a the td engine aboult serial and parallel conections of the pipes.. I guess this doesnt apply to the 1.8

thanks

is the console easy to remove? if so i'll check it at the weekend

thanks

It is on the earlier models, not sure about the 2003 model.

Start by removing the heater dials, possibly some hidden screws behind them, probably some 'popper' type clips that just need a sharp tug to release them.

Someone put it together, so it has to come apart

You dont say if its the fan not working or you are getting no heat through vents. If its no heat, see if both coolant pipes are hot going through bulkhead, if neither is hot or only one you need to bleed the heater matrix.
