hi bought a replacement motor/fan £100 for my disco 200tdi on a J PLATE .stripped out dash took out matrix not tooo bad cant get matrix to split to take out old MOTOR took out all clips BOTH PLATES ONE EITHER SIDE stuck in screw drivers pulled like mad but will it hellers like open up to pull out motor

Do you mean you took out the heater box not the matrix.
The matrix is the small rad.
When I did mine I had wound up cutting the large flap and the riveting it back together when I reassembled the heater box.
Quite a tricky job.

yeah sorry my mistake took off all the clips from joint all around but cant get it to split haynes book says position flap but no matter what position flap is in it wont alow it to split ???s so you actually cut the long flap in 2 to allow it to seperate?

Yes I cut it as it had a crack in it anyway.
Then when it was back together just used a small plate with rivets.
Make the plate and drill it while it is stripped.
Had no issues with it.
I also cut a piece out to slide the matrix in after the box was reassembled to make it easier. Then just glued the piece back after the matrix was back in.
