now my s3 is getting more use than historically and will get more if my son passes and my daughter is also about to learn, I have started thinking about additional safey/comfort mods, I can put up with not being able to see out the back for a few hours in the morning :D thought it would be a big improvement for the younglings though.

I did think of just getting a fender safari door and sticking that on - which would also give the benefit of a rear wiper - but I noticed that sp 4x4 (and others I assume) offer rear door heated glass for series vehicles.

anyone tried it? is it just a case of sticking the glass in and connecting it to a spare on the fuse box and a switch?

not bothered about sophistications like timed switches, straight on off will do me.

Yes I fitted one around 5 years ago and well worth while. Be sure to wire it up via a relay, the load will soon kill a switch without one.
Get an illuminated switch or warning light so the young ones turn it off !
From memory mine was around £55 but that was a while back.

thanks will give it a go, the sp glass is c£48 inc vat so add on some postage and the switch, relay etc its probably about the same maybe a little more

good idea about the illuminated switch, probably wire it to an ignition on live just to be sure it doesn't get left on
