Driving home this evening the dipped head lights on my 'S Reg' 90 CSW suddenly went out.

I had to drive home with lights on main beam - luckily I did not meet anyone coming the other way. Only by holding the 'stick' forward was I able to get any light.

I checked the fuses and the bulbs and all are OK; the sidelights work fine but the main beam will only come on when the 'stick' is pulled back.

Any ideas on what the problem could be.

Thanks.

On my Landy, I had the same problem. I was getting high resistance in the connectors for the bulbs. The connectors the wires went into were all coroded.

Obviously I assume that you have checked the fuses.

To check the resistance just use an ammeter on the wires to the chassis.
