Yes it's illegal on road, but ok if off road. Any one swapped their H7 55w for H7 100w without any problems.

Not a good idea or any car. Better get some LEDs for offroad. Cree ones should be very bright.

I have some Osram Rally 65 Watt H7 bulbs (64217), which are about 60% brighter than standard Osram H7 bulbs.

They're not legally allowed for road use, but look standard so are impossible to tell without removing them from the headlamp.

Unfortunately they 64217 bulbs NLA from Osram, so it's remaining stocks only.

LEDs don't focus correctly in a reflector headlamp, so although bright, most of the light diffuses uncontrollably from the lens.

Back in the day I upgraded my 86 Audi coupe quattro to 100Ws all round, H4s and H7s so that was 400W main beam - before LEDs came about - but they have metal buckets and glass lenses with high watts you could melt the plastics - oh and a wiring upgrade to carry the extra current.
The road was clear at night lol must remember to remove them when i get round to putting it back on the road....
