Just added a set of halogen headlights to my 90, only problem is one doesn't always come on with the other. It always comes on with full beam, but it is just a dim orange glow when on normally. The other headlight is fine and the faulty one works sometimes. Any ideas?

Thanks guys

Bad earth on the dim headlight side. They are only push fit connectors

:5biagree: ... check headlight connector paying special attention to the earth. A little WD40 in the connection will help. While you're there just make sure the earth points on the inner wings are clean and tight.

When I had problems with my front headlights after replacing them was due to the relay, now I also messed around with the dash lights that day too and may have hit the relay or something to cause the issue.

Had this yesterday on the RH side after replacing the headlamp securing rims - a spray of silicon spray in the 3 blade headlamp connector seems to have cured.

Had a look for the famous wing earths - couldn't see, but then didn't have a torch to hand! How on earth did you get to them Andy?

Easy enough to get to through the headlight hole, just look up to about the 2 0'clock position on the left hand light and you'll see it. It would be simple if there was a captive nut on there but finding a way of holding the rear nut through the headlamp hole and tightening the other side from the top requires the body of a rubber man or a Twister expert! :D
