Can anyone tell me if it is possible to demist/clean the inside of the headlight cluster on my Freelander 1 TD4? It is the facelift front and has failed the mot on this. I am really hoping it can be done without removing the whole unit but looking at it think it can’t.
I think I have seen a post on here previously somewhere where someone did it but can’t find it. Thanks 🙏

Ok, I have read a few more posts and think the problem is not on the inside but the outside as with everyone else’s post. The really annoying thing is I work in a scrapyard and we have binned 3 TD4’s in the last few months I could have had the lights off

Wet and dry.
Work up to about 2000 grit. Then clear coat.

I know it is another topic, but for rear brakes, loosen handbrake cable under armrest console, access through rear panel which unclipped.

Strip, clean and apply copper grease to bearing surfaces.

Reassemble. Fit drum, apply foot brake and ensure adjust works. Then adjust cable for one click to just rub shoes when turning wheel.

Bought headlamp cleaning stuff, seem a lot better and put new bulbs in. If it clears up this afternoon I’m gnna do them again and put a coat of the stuff on them that came with the cleaning kit. Then adjusted handbrake at drum and cable, which wasn’t as big a pain as it could’ve been. So will call garage tomorrow for retest date and hopefully will get another year out of it 🤞
