Hi Guys,

Looking to convert my headlights to halogen as per some of the £30 kits on fleabay, I presume this is just a straight swap?

I ve also discovered that a few of my headlight adjustment screws appear to be missing and I m struggling to find any replacements, has anybody any ideas.

Cheers

You can buy new plastic housings for a few quid each which will renew your adjusters, just order them with the halogen conversiona and youll be away.

I got some new lucas ones from india off ebay. All metal and seemed a lot nicer than the placcy ones...only had them a year our so so not sure how well they'll last but seemed to be reasonably well made and had nicer adjusters

ah wow never seen metal ones, if you can get them go for that. saying that i guess a plastic one wont rust up. also do you ahve the series 3 style wings on your 2? as mine is a series 3.

Will the metal ones not eventually cause corrosion where they come into contact with the aluminium? I suppose on an original rebuild these could be preferable though

Only downside Ive found with halogen headlamps is that ****part dipswitch/indicator assy only lasts a couple of years. Replacing mine again tomorrow and adding a relay to see if it improves life of switch. Still it seems a bit warmer than 2 Xmas ago when I changed the last one.

use the diagram in the FAQ section.

Those bowls do come with a gasket. Only thing that was wrong with them was the original grommet didn't fit the wiring hole properly. Other than that they seem to be ok
