hi again
ive got a 200 tdi which size head gasket do i use ???
and if i put a thicker gasket will this lower compression n give more boost ??? :D

If you put a THICKER gasket in, you have made the volume of the cylinder BIGGER, thus reducing compression. Also the difference is negligible, you would not notice it.

Put the correct gasket on for the piston protrusion on YOUR engine. I can run my engine on a 2 hole but that doesn't mean you could. Or, if you have the old one, use the same size as that (assuming it's not suffered an HG related issue).

hi ive stuck a 4 hole one on should b ok i reckon guy at local landy place said thats wat they use so fingers crossed :D

4 hole? Are you sure it's got 4 holes in it? 1,2,3 and no hole gaskets exist but not a 4 hole.

You will indeed be fine with a no hole. However, the reason they use the thickest, no hole gasket, is because they are being lazy and can't be bothered working out which one they should use, or they don't understand how to. As this is the thickest gasket if it was not thick enough then you would have had it because they don't come any thicker!

lazy n rather unhelpfull thats our local landy place m8 !!! feel like im doing them the favour
should b ok though ??

Aye it will be fine.

And if the job's a good one, a little less likely to fail than a thinner gasket.

The thicker gasket can accommodate slightly less than perfect surfaces better.

Make sure the flame rings are bigger than the bores!

Discomania knows about that.
