Hi all,

On my 1988 110, the hazard switch when on illuminates the trailer light, but the hazards don’t work.

Indicators work fine, but require the hazards to be ‘on’ (e.g. trailer light on)

MOT in May — any suggestions as to where to look? Thanks!

You turn on the hazards (all indicators flashing) and the trailer lights come on ..... ?
There is a wiring fault on either the socket or the plug going to the trailer.

You turn on the hazards on the car and the 4 indicators flash ....
You connect the trailer and - what happens ?

When you indicate the indicators work on the car and (when you connect the trailer) the trailer indicators flash too ?

Not quite

With the hazard switch ‘off’ no indicators work

With it ‘on’ the green trailer light illuminates on the dash and indicators work as normal

No way to turn the hazards on (!)

This is without a trailer connected (I don’t really tow)

Have you LED indicators fitted?

The trailer light will alway flash once even without a trailer connected on the dash.

Everything (indicator) runs through the hazard switch in the lower dash, everything.

Have you changed the switch (as @tottot said in post #2) they cost less than £10
