Hi there, I'm completely new to the Landy world and just bought a 1999 Disco 2 TD5.
Within a few days I started getting the three Amigos (which didnt surprise me after reading a lot of posts here) so that gave me the excuse to buy a Hawkeye to diagnose my problem.
When I plug the Hawkeye in and try to use any of the functions, it hangs with the following message:
Performing Test
Please wait...
When I try the Vehicle Comms Test I get the following error:
VEHICLE COMMS FAIL
K1 K2 K3
So I assumed that there is a problem with the Hawkeye communicating with the ECU. However, when I try the Hawkeye Self Test I get the following error:
Selftest Complete
Unit FAIL
So is there a problem with my Hawkeye or is it the link to the ECU or both? I've not managed to get it working yet.
I've emailed omitec so I'll see what they say. In the meantime, I checked the ECU and have found oil in the red connector (I've read the posts here and found this to be quite common). I've tried to clean all that out with wd40 and compressed air.
I'm guessing that I may need a new wiring loom and possibly ECU before I even find out what caused the three Amigo's. Just wondering what your thoughts are.
Its just a bit frustrating to buy the Hawkeye and not be able to use it to diagnose my problem lol.
Cheers,
Pete
p.s. If anyone is in the Stamford area, you are welcome to use my Hawkeye.
